dave burck / brad herzing
the austin australia phlip back project
This
project is a joint online photographic exhibition between Dave Burck in
Brisbane, Australia and Brad Herzing in Austin, Texas in the United
States. This ambitious project involves creating four different photos
each month for one year. Each month will have a different theme and the
challenge is to compose four different photos that illustrate that
theme in the one month provided.
The Austin Australia Phlip Back
project is a unique photographic experience. It will use a virtual
exhibition hosted by both Dave Burck and Brad Herzing on their
corresponding websites. This marks one of the few online exhibitions
where the viewer will be able to see the body of work grow and evolve
over time. This organic virtual exhibition allows the viewer to see
each photo in an ever changing context, which will lead to a different
reading of the work each time one views the exhibition.
Moreover, this partnership will bring to light the cultural differences between Australia and the United
States in a creative way. The diverse readings of different themes and
diverse subject material will illustrate not only the talent of the two
artists, but will also showcase each home country.
This exciting project will be updated every month with new photos and new themes. Watch the exhibition unfold!
